It's hard to know what to answer without knowing what the society does, but how about some sort of survey, if there is anything about your society where people have different opinions or ways of doing things? You might also put in an interesting fact from history about the society's main interest or how it got started, or what people did along those lines before modern times, or ask a few questions about whatever subject is connected to the society's activities--a sort of "Do you know this?" and then answer the question in the next newsletter. Having a regular feature like that would always make your life easier, if you have to go on producing newsletters.
