Is it safe to travel 8 weeks pregnant to El Salvador?

I just found out I am pregnant and will be traveling to El Salvador for two weeks. Im not sure if there is a safe insect repellent that I can use. What are things that can affect my pregnancy by traveling to this part of Central America.
