Random kiddie question: Does your toddler sleep across the bed?

Sorry it's a weird Q, but I have noticed that each of my children, having ped their 1st birthday's began sleeping across their bed/cot rather then head to foot position. My first slept like this from age 1yr-3yrs and my second who is 1yr has just begun using this sleep positon also. All of the children in my family have done this including me when I was small (my mum tells me) have your children done this?
