Vomting up blood?

I recently had to go to the ER because I was vomiting up blood. The doctor said that it was a gastric ulcer. I've been taking the medication but the pain or the amount of blood that I've been vomiting up hasn't subsided. Is there something else that could be wrong? The doctors just keep telling me that it's an ulcer but it's not going away with treatment.
