Antarctica is a continent AND a country?

I know it's a continent, but in a book my brother brought home about COUNTRIES (not continents), Antarctica has a page dedicated to it. Australia is also in there, except I know that it is both the name of an eponymous country and the continent (because in french, the continent has a DIFFERENT name from the country, and the continent is comprised of Tasmania and New Zealand as well as Australia).
