I need a traditional alaskan soup or stew reciepe (non seafood)?

I have to come up with some thing to serve to about 8 people (luncheon) my ignment was soup/appetizer my state of origin is alaska. This is a project for school,(not cooking school) so open minded on what ever anyone can come up with. I may have a hard time finding a moose or caribou so could I get alternatives to these.
