Why are children in the United Kingdom or the USA not thought about what happened to the Irish?

Idon't know where you get your information but the normans invaded tortured,d and abused the english and then they were given ireland by the pope because the irish were following the celtic tradition of christianity instead of the roman catholic one.Millions of Irish people settled in mainland britain and fought in the wars against napoleon the kaiser and hitler,the duke of wellington was an irishman as was fieldmarshall montgomery, so that doesn't sound like we don't like each other.Life was bad for irish people during the famine but guess what? It wasn't a great deal of fun for anybody who happened to be poor.
